Did you know that Michelangelo was a touchy artist?

The famous "Pietà" commissioned to Michelangelo by Cardinal Giovanni de Bilhères Lagraulas, French Ambassador of Rome and admired in the first chapel of the right aisle of St. Peter Basilica, is one of the most important works of the Master and the only one bearing his signiture.

They sat that the great artist, who was 24 years old and still little known, hearing the opinion of some art connaisseurs who praised the work, but attributed it to Christoforo Solari, was filled with indignation and wanted to highlight the name of the real author. So he put his signature on the belt of the Virgin Maria.
