Did you know why they say "get up at cock's crow"?

According to a legen of the Middle Age, Florence and Siena divided the territory of the Chianti as following: at cock's crow each city would have sent out a knight. Their meeting point would have become the border. Siena relied on a white cock, fat and soiled. Florence chose a black one and didn't feed him. On the race day, the Florentine cock, exhausted by hunger, woke up first and crowed in advance...

The name has remaind the same and identifies the most exported Italian wine. The black cock, on the contrary, is endangering.
